{First off- the name. A friend of mine setup this journal for me way back when. He came up with the name (Kush is a nickname of mine). While I thought it was somewhat humorous, I did recognize how arrogant it sounds. But- he hit 'enter' before I could say no. It wasn't a big deal at the time- this was always intended to be a small journal, written just for close friends. Now that I've expanded to meeting new people, please don't judge me too harshly on my name alone.}

I always used to use this journal as a way to communicate personal goings-ons and thoughts with my close friends. Not too many people have had this journal address in the past. Thusly, a lot of my writing has been based on the things I knew my close friends would understand. As I seek to meet some more new people online via LJ, I'm working to change the style and what I present in my journal. So welcome aboard during a time of transition!
I'm a very serious person who still loves to laugh more than anything. Life is a good thing, and should be enoyed. Part of who I am as a person is a healer- someone who works to help ease pain and bring about peace and joy. I've always felt inspired in life to better the world around me, and have spent many years trying to help all things I'm a part of, from friends and community, to the nation, to the environment. However, I've learned of late how to balance my impulse to help others with my need to help myself. If I do not ensure that I am well, how can I expect to have the strength to help others, and how can I expect to be happy enough to want to move forward in life? I've spent the past few years really focused on learning what it means to love myself, and rebalancing my life. In the past I've suffered a lot of personal illness, trauma, and difficult circumstances, and it took a lot of effort to figure out how to let go of pain and embrace life.
That said, my desire to help others really is a strong facet of who I am as a living being. I enjoy the opportunity to help others. And I really do believe in using the lessons that I've learned to benefit other people. There's just too much pain in this world not to help. And we all need a hug now and again, right? If ever you need a smile, a laugh, or a kind word, I hope I can be here for you. And more seriously- if you ever need to sit down and talk, or try and work something out- it's sortof what I do. I hope you'll feel comfortable, and maybe we can sit down and figure some things out. (-:
I also love to teach, which I find is a passion I've had since I was young. I try and implement this into my daily life, sharing what I've learned as a way of benefiting others. In turn, I love to learn and gain from other people's perspectives, experiences, and knowledge.
With teaching and healing as large pieces of who I am, it makes sense that when I recently took a MBTI test, I came out as a "Champion" acrhetype. Champion personalities love to inspire, and share stories and inspiring oments with others. This is very true to who I am, and you'll find that within my journal, I'll bust out a soapbox every now and again (or perhaps a circle of chairs?- come around and listen everyone (-; ) and share thought, stories, and insights that I've developed with the hopes that someone else can take from my experiences and benefit or be inspired.
I'm also really big into studying spirituality and metaphysics. These are big cans of worms that I won't try and explain right here, but if you read my journal, you'll note that the topics come up rather often. If you feel uncertain of what I'm talking about, or want to know more, just ask. Even if you're sort of incredulous, like "That there be crazy talk!" I don't mind entertaining a conversation with you. I've only arrived at my present line of thinking after a lot of experiences took me into new arenas of understanding the world around us. I believe strongly in scientific approach to thinking, I have a strong background in logic, and yes- I also believe in philosophy and spirituality. Marrying all of these ideas together has come about due to my life's journey, and if you ever want to know how I got from A to B, I'd love to share.
When I'm not reflecting on the nature of reality, and diving into the depths of my soul, I enjoy spending time with people, particularly my friends. However, I really enjoy people as a whole, and many people fascinate me. I love getting to learn about new people, and their lives, and how they think. I do love some solo time too though- and enjoy having a cup of tea while listening to the rain fall like nothing else. I occassionally watch TV (especially cartoons!) or play video games, and I've recently gotten into manga. I love going for walks, and nature inspires me greatly. One day I hope to learn how to produce art, and when I'm pretty sure I'm alone- I'll sing. I'm working on a book, and for fun sometimes just design things.
I'm wordy and very thought-oriented, which you may have started to note already. But it's just who I am, and there's nothing wrong with that. Even still- I know better than to ever try and describe myself or my life in a several-paragraph bio section, so I'll leave off without more rambling. I'll just say that, if you're reading this, and you're not too sure who I am, that we should resolve that by just sitting down and talking sometime (-:
Be well, everyone.

Here's some additional information that people may want to know:
-If I know a given LJ friend has a variety of people or members of different communities participate in their entries, replies, etc.- then I tend to view that person's journal as a sort of community. As such, I won't hesitate to post replies to other people's comments, as a way of being friendly and interacting. If you find this uncomfortable, then a quick private message to me will see me making sure not to do that with your comments.
-If you do want to get to know me further, know that I ask A LOT of questions. I'm just a very naturally curious person. You may always choose to tell me you don't wish to answer a question- I won't be offended.
-I tend to be slow to add new friends, because I post largely about very personal topics, and I'm used to having rather deep relationships with my current friends who read this journal. I'm going to start adding filters, to help keep information where it most appropriately belongs. However- I may still be a little slow and cautious about adding new people- prefering to get to know them a bit first, before adding them in as a friend. Still though- I do love new people, so please don't hesitate to send me a message and start a conversation- I really would enjoy it!
